Term – In our industry, Managed IT Services contracts generally tend to last 1-3 years.  A well written, but fair contract should have an escape or termination clause for not delivering a proper level of quality IT services.  The contract should have a definition for what would be considered breach of contract by the IT Services Provider.  But it also may not.  The contract may have a clause for mediation of a dispute, it may not.  Get a copy of your contract, read and understand your rights.  Also, take note of the auto-renewal date if your contract does auto-renew.  You need to know this when it is time to make the switch.
